Questions
Q.01

How does it work?

With just your MMSI, MollyHawk pulls your position from a range of public AIS sources and stitches them together — collecting your location continuously to build one clean, living track. No app, no install, nothing to switch on.

Q.02

Why is this different?

You can start tracking with just your MMSI — nothing to install. From there, MollyHawk unifies your position from many different sources into one continuous track, and gives you a single URL to share with friends and family. No more sending people between MarineTraffic, PredictWind and a handful of other pages to follow one boat.

Q.03

Can I import my existing tracks?

Yes. MollyHawk pulls your passages in automatically from PredictWind, NoForeignLand and Garmin InReach — and you can upload your own GPX tracks whenever you like. Everything lands on one page.

Q.04

Do I need an app or a device?

For coastal tracking within AIS reach, no — it runs entirely from your MMSI. For offshore, an app to share your position is coming soon (as long as you have internet out there), or we can import your offshore passages from PredictWind or Garmin InReach. Have another device? Let us know and we'll integrate it.

Q.05

Can I share data from my boat's network?

Soon, yes. Our onboard device — coming soon — reads your boat's network and shares live data like speed through water and wind on your page. It's in testing now: see a live sample at mollyhawk.app/v/emma.

Q.06

Who can see my page?

Only people with your link. There's no public directory, and you can rotate the link at any time — the old one simply stops working.
